“This is from that very first photo shoot I had with Elton in 1972. I had a hard time selling these early portraits. British Vogue finally took them and they ran one picture, rather small. A few months later, all the magazines and newspapers were calling me, looking for Elton. When I left Elton’s flat, he gave me a cassette labelled ’17-11-70’ and it was sensational. He was going to be a very big star – there was no doubt in my mind – and I was glad to be there at the beginning.” -Terry O’Neill
